Alice In Wonderland

“It had, in fact, a sort of mixed flavour of cherry-tart, custard, pine-apple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot battered toast.”
— Lewis Carroll, “Alice in Wonderland”

The taste of Carroll’s concoction, sipped from the bottle labeled “Drink me,” is a quintessential example of classic nonsense—a fusion of individually delightful yet utterly incongruous elements.

Simon Difford’s shot, on the other hand, ventures into the realm of the unexpected, yet it certainly isn’t nonsense in terms of taste: the exquisite notes of fine tequila are elegantly accentuated by the presence of Grand Marnier.

Ingredients:
-1 oz/30 ml Grand Marnier or other cognac orange liqueur
-1/2 oz/15 ml Reposado Tequila

Process:
Refrigerate the ingredients. Pour Grand Marnier into a chilled glass. Carefully layer tequila on the top.

Garnish – a lime wedge.

Drinkware:
Shot glass.
