Cocktail Golden Larches

cocktail Golden Larches

As I mentioned, I came up with the idea for a couple of cocktails based on rowanberry liqueur.

The idea for the Golden Larches cocktail came to me while hiking in the mountains, chasing the fleeting beauty of autumn larches. I love this season, and I try to make it out to see the golden larches every year. The cold, clear air; the last warmth of the sun’s rays; soft gold fading into icy white. A hint of sweetness, delicate bitterness, vivid freshness.
Rowanberry liqueur, gin, lemon juice.
It turned out to be a real heart-warmer.

In my article about rowanberry liqueur, I share a recipe for making it at home. Commercial rowanberry liqueurs are also available. You can choose any made with vodka or gin. The important thing is to avoid ones made with brandy or another spirit that has a strong flavor of its own.
You can use a vodka- or gin-based infusion instead of liqueur; in that case, add a little sweetener, such as syrup, to the cocktail.

Making the Golden Larches Cocktail

Ingredients:
-30 ml rowanberry liqueur
-30 ml dry gin
-30 ml freshly squeezed Meyer lemon juice (regular lemons will also work, but the drink will be a little more sour and a little less aromatic)

Method:
Combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice cubes. Shake. Strain into a chilled glass.

Glassware:
