
I was looking for something new for the winter holidays and came across a wonderful Christmas Margarita recipe by Simon Difford.
The cocktail is aromatic, rich, invigorating, and unmistakably festive.
Difford’s Falernum Liqueur and Difford’s Margarita Bitters were not available. Since the liqueur is based on spiced rum, I used spiced rum as a substitute. The bitters are herbal, so I replaced them with Barents Bitter—also herbal, though with a different botanical profile. I really liked the result.
Ingredients:
– 11/2 oz/ 45 ml Tequila Reposado
– 2/3 oz/ 20 ml Triple Sec Liqueur
– 2/3 oz/ 20 ml Fresh Lime Juice
– 1/2 оz/ 15 ml Cranberry Juice
– 1/3 oz/ 10 ml Difford’s Falernum Liqueur
– 4 drops Difford’s Margarita Bitters
Process:
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass.
Garnish: Rosmary spring and cranberry.
